Name Project
For the name project, Roxy gave us the opportunity to wander outside the classroom and capture images that appeared to be letters in our name. After taking several pictures, I put them into photoshop and practiced refining the edge of each image and used the move tool to organize the pictures in the format I wanted them.
Landscape Project
For the landscape project, we focused in detail on foreground, middleground, and background. After learning them, I went into photoshop and used the images that Roxy provided and worked with the selection tool and feathering the edge. I worked with the different layers and parts of images and came up with a final product.

I used the pen tool and then warped the teeth into vampire teeth
I inserted text onto the picture and edited the layers to combine the text and image together.
I used the multiple layer tool to put the cracks onto Jason Caplin's face.
Teacher Creature
The teacher creature project allowed us to create a funny yet educational Photoshop experience to share with our teacher of choice. I choose Brian, my adviser, because I believe that i have developed a close relationship with him. To start of the project, I interviewed Brian on his interests and passions. I incorporated his ridiculous minivan that I constantly nag him about. Before, I started on Photoshop, I gathered images that i would turn into layers. The final product ended up being a Mo ab scene with Brian pasted on a body of a hippy with additional features. Photoshop is very advanced to begin with, however there was one thing that I struggled with a lot. Changing Brains skin color on his face to match the neck of the hippy was strenuous mostly because i could not get the hue and saturation right. Towards the end, I exhausted the idea and decided to put a bandanna around his neck so the obvious skin color change was not as obvious. My favorite part of this project was being able to laugh along with my peers based on the final projects. We compared and contrasted developed good feedback for each other. Also, I am excited to see Brian's reaction towards the final product. It was comforting to be able to make fun of Brian without him getting offended through Photoshop. I have learned through this project to not get frustrated at the little things because there are so many tools in Photoshop that have a variety of different uses. I slowly progressed in Photoshop throughout this project and it helped me develop a new mindset in the class. |
Self Portrait
In my self portrait I was trying to potray the idea of the indpent aspect that is given us once we reach highschool. We are no longer babied and are expected to advocate for ourselves. Not only was I talking about school, sometimes there are times in life when you are so overwelmed to the point where you feel like you have no where to turn to and feel trapped in this endless cycle that is consuming your min and taking fun out of your life. We all go through stess and sometimes mine is hightened compared to others. I did not want to delinate all negativity through the image but to also show the color that I have. Although I have struggled, I have had people stand by me through thick and thin and help prevent me from falling off the deep end. Animas highschool has taught me the importance of self respect, student teacher relationships, and the importance of the future. It may seem a little overwleming to depict all of this through one picture, but thats the way art works. One picture can have hundreds of different meanings. Its the way you look at it.
