Movie Project
- What is old, and what is new in any work of art?
Using new skills or personalized skills can be new in any piece of art. When any artist fabricates a new art piece, it is predominantly individualized based on the artist. We use skills that have been conveyed through centuries of work. Artists use ideas and dexterities that we are taught.
2. How is art used in everyday life?
We use art our everyday lives through anything that we may individually consider creative work or being artistic. We develop our skills daily through being creative and creating art in any way possible. As a society we perceive the idea that we aren't all capable of being artistic, but in reality we are. The elements of art make up everything you see. Shape, color, texture, value, line, form, shape, balance, emphasis, pattern, unity, movement, contrast, rhythm. The elements are used in our lives several times a day whether we are applying them ourselves our visually looking.
3. How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication?
It can be used as vehicle communication because anyone of different ethnicity can understand art. For example, if someone drew a picture of a fruit bowl, anyone, will be able to define the picture visually. It proves that art can be a way of communication that everyone can understand. We may consider the possibilites that we have in art and how we can continue it into our future.
4. How does Material Culture influence artistic decisions?
We influence each other to create an art piece that will satisfy as many people as possible. Art is found in material culture through advertising and propaganda. The media uses art that is pleasing to the eye to promote whatever the art piece is portraying. Artists dont always follow the path that they want to take but rather what others want to see.
5. What problem-solving skills are employed in making works of art?
Being dedicated to your art means you have to work through obstacles that you are faced with in the process to create the most beautiful work possible. Every artist will face challenges that they have to overcome no matter the circumstances.
6. How can an artist create works of art through combining, expanding, and sequencing?
An artist can create works of art with these tools because it gives the viewer something that pleases their senses and their mind which is constantly searching for a meaning. If you use these three tools properly you can create a product that has meaning and purpose and that contributes to helping your audience focus on the purpose of the video rather than the mistakes.
7. How are the characteristics and expressive features of art and design used to create art?
The characteristics and expressive features in art and design perfect the final art piece. When we recognize what small or large features that need to be added to our art, it makes the final that much better. The elements are put together to create expressive features and certain design of which we choose.
8. Why do Artists Produce Preliminary Plans? (sketches, brainstorms, storyboards, etc?)
Artists produce preliminary plans to map out what they want their art to represent and how to turn it into beautiful work. Creating a plan makes it easier to grasp what you want to perceive in any work of art.
Political Cartoon Project

Black Fish Documentary: An eyeopening documentary on the lives of many orcas in what we consider an entertainment show (Seaworld) |
Project Reflection:
In the process of creating my political cartoons I faced many obstacles, including redoing my final comic and re writing my reflection. I felt as though my first piece, that I originally drew, was rushed and sloppy. The most significant objective in creating a political cartoon, is making sure you are addressing the issue in a comical yet informative way. Seaworld is creating a substantial global issue that has cost 3 lives due to refusal in admitting there has been a problem. They are holding innocent whales like Tilikum in captivity. Orcas in seaworld see nothing but a concrete tank for there entire life span. I appreciate the feedback that seaworld gave towards the movie BlackFish because it swayed my perspective even more. The videos they developed were out of pure pity and sympathy for themselves without defending the concrete tanks that they store these animals in. When people view my art, I don't want them to think of it as a biost one-sided cartoon but to use it as an eyeopening perspective. Viewing and creating are opposite ideas. Viewing is developing a sense for others work while exploring your opinion. On the other hand, creating is the idea of sharing your beliefs and opinion with others or to simply put something you feel strongly about, down on a piece of paper.

Pre Historic Art History Drawings
When we began studying the prehistoric art, we learned different techniques and looked at development of art through time. Roxy showed us a Non fictional movie about the sentimental impact that wolves had on people thousands of years ago. It helped us develop a sense of empathy and helped me apply it to my art piece. I began sketching in my composition book but then transferred it to a piece of paper. During the drawing process, I learned multiple drawing skills and roxy taught the significance of using the different graphite pencils for shading. There are certain pencils that have a lighter shade and some that are extremely dark. at first, it was hard to stray away from my standard mechanical pencil but ended up being more beneficial and helped the quality of my final piece. I can see myself applying this shading technique in future art classes and possibly for school related projects.
